Omni Outliner for Mac OS X. WOO HOO! I'm LOVING this thing!

I've spent all morning not writing. Instead I've been transcribing my outline and character details into this new program. It's much better than paper outline because I can move or add things all over, check things off, etc. Plus I can see the entire outline at once as opposed to the other method I've used - index cards. It'll be much easier to go over and add scenes where necessary. I've also put in a separate column to put the word count from each scene in.

My characters are becoming more detailed because of it which is, of course, a good thing. Because the better I know the supporting characters, the better idea I'l lhave of what they'll do. (Like discovering a councilor who wanted to get their hands dirty - thereby creating the potential for a whole 'nother novel.)

I'm almost 3/4 of the way through updating this outline and have discovered a blatant lack of the nasties' POVs. It'll be a cinch to fix, too! I've even got the outline separated by day of the week so I know how much time has passed. And I can easily add in chapters when I finish the thing and ready to divide it out.
