I not only wrote my 1k today but also spent the afternoon putting On Azrael’s Wings into an outline on Omni Outliner. Didn’t have one before. Had to divide some of the longer posts into shorter chapters – went from 22 chapters online to 25 in print.

The next order of business is to detail the characters and motivations. I’m sure that once I do that, I’ll find all sorts of room for growth on this thing. That’s pretty much what happened with Born of Silence. I did some deep character sketches and came up with all manner of plot twists to incorporate into the storyline.

When that’s done, I plan on plugging the entire mess into the Writer’s Toolkit to give me an even better idea of the struggles between Ursula and Azrael.

Enjoying the third of my three days off. blissful sigh Gotta pull a morning shift tomorrow and then I'm off for another couple of days because of 4th of July holidays. I've already heard rumor that the entire department is going to be slaving away for six or seven days next week, though. Blech. I'll be hobbling by the time that's over.

Got another 1k done yesterday. Total month’s tallly is pitiful. Only 20k. I spent far too much time having crisises, slacking off, and not making 1k a day. Just for that, I’ve decided to enroll in the wordcount Dare at Forward Motion again this month. I’ve already signed up for another 8 chapters and a massive re edit and rewrite of On Azrael’s Wings. The wordcount should bring me back up to where I need to be. All of which starts . . . TODAY!

I've been impatiently waiting for the love of my life, my mahasanni, to get through the latest Harry Potter book. She's a slower reader than I am, but was whipping through it at a phenomenal pace when I got it for her. Then she started slowing down. I finally asked what the deal was. She said she had told herself she was going to begin her algebra studies (before she starts the class in September) after she finished the book. Which was why she was lagging.

ACK!

I told her in no uncertain terms that she is NOT to start algebra until AFTER she's finished reading the book AFTER Harry Potter.

Seems to have worked. She's sped up again. In the 400's now. I might see that tome before I'm 80 years old.
