Almost doubled my pleasure…

Total word count for today is a whopping 20,992. Edited seven chapters in the last five hours. It’s enough. No more today. My elbows aren’t happy with me.

Anybody else?

Hey!

It hasn’t even been a week and I’m posting already! What a concept!

Wednesday through Friday I rested up from Hel Month at work. Ran a few errands but mostly hung out at home with The Song of Ice and Fire series previously mentioned. Just started book four and have heard that the author plans seven. Good series if you like gritty realism in your fantasy tales.

Saturday my dad came for a visit from Idaho. He’s moving to Texas in a few months. I visit Idaho once every 5 years (if that.) Maybe he’s worried he’ll never see me again . . . LOL! We had a wonderful time roaming downtown. My dad’s a retired computer programmer analyst who will NEVER switch to a Mac. But I got him into an Apple store! LOLOL! Damn! Wish I had a camera so I could blackmail him with my brothers.

Sunday was my wife’s birthday, and I read, watched DVDs, and ran out to get her a speaker system for her iPod. Then I consolidated our music selections on her computer and transferred her iPod to her iBook instead of her eMac. The eMac will soon be on its way to parts unknown since she uses the iBook much more frequently.

Today I wrote the new intro to chapter nineteen of Born of Silence. Then edited like a mad woman. Whipped out four chapters of edits to the tune of 11,884 words. (Kids, don’t try this at home.) The next ten scenes are flat out edits. Then one more scene with some serious changes before I wing my way through the last nine scenes.

Anybody out there haven’t read any of my Sanguire stories? I’m going to need a first reader or six to tell me if it all goes together and works or not.

Been Awhile

The last month at work has been slammed to the max. Coupled with being so sick (flu plus relapse,) and almost total exhaustion from the MTX I’m taking for the RA, I haven’t been good for nuthin’.

I’ve got almost a week off, however, due to the holiday and lack of business demands. YAY!

So, yesterday, I tweaked my website a bit. Added book covers to the random quotes box on the upper left of the sidebar. (We’ll see if that drums up sales or not.) Also, added a couple of links to programs I’ve been playing with. One is a gallery, to which I’ve added a few pics. Nothing major, but I thought it’d be fun. The other is a calendar program to show future plans. I think I’m going to also put my wordcount and writing progress here for those of you who are interested.

Today I’ve been trying to figure out the php for the gallery program. There’s no link back to the main site, and for the life of me I can’t locate the right data in the forums to figure out how to add one. Someday, I’m sure. Until then, folks will just have to use their browser’s back button.

I’ve also got about a third of the house clean. Bathroom sink and toilet are a mess, but the floor’s swept and mopped. Sheets changed on the bed, bedroom dusted, last year’s paperwork finally filed into the closet, and vacuuming done. Now I have to get the kitchen and dishes done, the kitchen floor mopped, the livingroom cleaned and dusted, and then vacuumed.

Figure if I do it now, I won’t have to do it again for a bit and can enjoy my days off!

On the book front, I blew a hundred fifty bucks on books over my birthday weekend. I’ve read the RV book, Fried Green Tomatos, a field guide on the Apple iBook, and the second in George R. R. Martin’s A Song of Fire and Ice series. (I’m over halfway through the third, now.)

I think that’s all.
