And so it goes — the first draft of Beloved Lady Mistress is complete, weighing in at 80,800 words! YAY! My alpha readers have it now, and I get a few days off. Then I do a line-by-line edit before sending it to Bella Books. Next step is to begin outlining book three.
No takers on last week’s contest. Small wonder. This website has gathered so much dust over the years, it’s hardly surprising that not many read it anymore. Ah, well. Such is life. While a part of me wants to play the petulant child and stop updating the thing, the grown up in me plans on being stubborn. Besides, I made a promise to myself at the beginning of the year to post every week barring emergencies, even if I am talking to myself.
Besides, talking to one’s self isn’t crazy. It’s gossiping to one’s self about what one said is crazy. Which takes me to this week’s topic!
If there is a reader out there looking at this webpage, can I ask what you want to see here? (Hah! You thought this was going to be about some other kind of solicitation, didn’t you? Get yer mind outta the gutter!)
This is my seventh entry and, for the most part, I’ve tried to keep them all centered on writing — not just an update so my readers will know what I’m up to, but also on writing in general. I’ve been getting no feedback, however, so I’m not sure if my readers are seeing what they want to see. (Or maybe they’re seeing exactly what they want to see, and have no complaints? It can go either way, I guess.)
Should anyone have any suggestions, please fill out the comment form below. I’d greatly appreciate knowing if I’m connecting with you at all, or if I’m turning people off.
Now, on to the rambling part of this entry…
How could I have gone sooooooo many years and not have seen the extended version of Terminator 2: Judgement Day? Huh? It boggles my mind! I just saw it yesterday, and Sarah’s mental state makes much more sense with the added scenes. I can appreciate that the studios might not want the extra time in a movie, but really! What difference does twenty minutes make in the scheme of things? It’s not like the actors weren’t paid for their work, the camera crew, the make up people, the key grip… Everyone gets their paycheck, regardless, else the scenes wouldn’t have been made in the first place! Sheesh!
Also watched The Book of Eli and Max Payne recently. Wow. That Mila Kunis can definitely play the tough chick when she wants to, huh? I’m kinda liking her choice of roles; it was only luck that I picked two movies that she happened to act in. She’s certainly come a long way since the spoiled brat from That 70’s Show.
I’ve spent the last four days on stay-cation. Took most the week off at work. Good timing on my part, because I’ve come down with a furkin’ cold. Blech! Still, got some major projects and spring cleaning done at home, plus finished the novel. Tomorrow, I’m switching my work space around for a change of pace. I’ll take photos and post them here — it’s not like anyone’s going to complain! HAH!
Currently, I’m reading Ender in Exile by Orson Scott Card. I love the Ender series, so was quite happy that he extended it a bit by following Ender after the Formic War. It’s good to see that the Wiggin parents weren’t quite as clueless as they appear to be.
The only other thing I’ve been reading lately has been the Fletcher DeLancey Past Imperfect series, an alternative Voyager fanfic. I highly recommend it.
Not much else going on, so I’ll stop boring you. Any book suggestions? Movie suggestions? C’mon, give! Fill out the comment section below! Let me hear from you!
Can I get some assistance? If you have any questions for me, or suggestions on what you want me to write about, please let me know!
