I’ve finished entering the plot of Broken Trails into Scrivener, and have realized I’m not as close to completion as I’d hoped. Instead of a couple more scenes to write, I’ve now got seven… and an additional four that can be swapped to Scotch’s POV rather than Lainey’s in order to even it out a [...]
October 21st
0 Comments Published October 21st, 2009 in Books, Broken Trails, Computer, Freya's Tears, Orphan MakerOi, what a week! You know what’s worse than a garage band staying in your hotel? THIRTY garage bands staying in your hotel! UGH! It was a freakin’ ZOO! What with exhaustion, Poison Night, a six day stretch of Hel, and a mountain of unfinished chores, I haven’t actually written anything on Broken Trails. I’ll [...]
6748 more words of Broken Trails edited. It won’t be much longer before Lainey’s in Nome, at this rate. Being a complete World of Warcraft geek these days, I’ve been watching a web series called ‘The Guild.’ Hilarious! Anybody who RPGs will get a lot of the jokes, and those who predominantly play online will [...]
Distractions & Procrastinations
3 Comments Published February 8th, 2009 in Broken Trails, Computer, Personal, Sanguire SeriesI promised myself that I’d update this blog at least once a month. I mean, why pay for a website that never gets updated? Waste of money — and with the economy in shambles, I can’t affort to let what I have leak away. So … Happy February! LOL! The first Sanguire book is still [...]
Found a programming error on my website. Seems my random short story links on the left were incorrect. I’ve fixed them. Now to find something else to distract me from the possibility of losing my lunch. (Yes, the flu my wife had last week has finally worked its way to me. Blech.)
My latest obsession . . . Things at work are changing (mixed bag, both for the better and the worse.) I’m literally taking over the department as our previous operational supervisor has moved to a different department. Better for me physically, but I hate phones. LOL Now that I’m managing all sorts of crap, I [...]
To Hakan Aydin, the man who created the WordPress theme I’m using as the basis for my site. After weeks of fighting and fuming on my part, and weeks of being slammed with emails on his, we finally connected so he could help me through a slight hurdle. You’ll note that there’s a bar above [...]
Finally indexed the ‘Online Reading’ tab with all the stuff I have on the website. I split the short stories up into a couple of categories . . . Slow Movin’s stories are listed separately, and those one-shot PWPs written for listed novels are now placed together. I’m not in the mood to reprogram each [...]
Not that there’s a lot there, but some . . . I’m going to take a closer look at the CSS for the gallery. Maybe I can get it closer to the color I want, and change the header, too. Vacuuming is complete. Still need to clean the bathroom, sweep and mop. The wife will [...]
I’ve got most the general tweaking done. The links on the header do work, and there are other links on those pages. I’ve updated the bio FAQ a smidge. My gallery is still offline because it takes forever and a day to upload it. I hope to get that done by next Monday at the [...]
It WORKED! * Happy dance! * Yesterday I CHMOD my .htaccess file to include executable (which it hadn’t been.) It was only this afternoon that I updated Permalinks for the dozenth time. This time, however, I skipped past my custom setting and picked one of the others. And now Pages works! Woot!! I can put [...]
After all that work, I’ve discovered those text boxes on the sides aren’t… They’re graphics designed to look like text boxes. *sigh* So, it’s back to the lesser colored theme.
… a new theme. This is closer to what want in that there are separate text boxes for posts and items on the menu. (And three columns.) I shall now fiddle with it.
Or And More Geeky Goodness To divert myself from the website tweaking, I focused on my browser. I have a Mac, using OS X 10.3.9. Up until the last few months, Firefox 1.5 has been an excellent browser. Works fast (and I tweaked it to work faster,) which is a good thing for the fickle [...]
Unless you’re my wife and have had to listen to all the heavy sighs, muttered curses, and occasional stomping out of the house lest the computer go off the balcony… Tweaked the style sheet as best I can. At least I have the background and image correct. Originally, I had darker text boxes for the [...]
