At this point in time, it’s doubtful. PD Publishing has told me for years that they planned on opening up ebooks of my titles, but I’ve yet to see it happen. Perhaps some day in the future they’ll have the time and money to put more effort into it. Until that day, I’m sorry to say the titles I’ve signed with them will not see the light of ebook. More’s the pity!

Jordan, I am glad my guide was helpful to you in getting you cleaned up. As to the funky symbols you are seeing… I noticed you are on Dreamhost. Try commenting out the following line in your wp-config.php, if it is in there, by adding two forward slashes in front of it:

define(‘DB_CHARSET’, ‘utf8’);

See if that helps. If not and you want a hand cleaning those up feel free to drop me an email.

This was beutiful obituary to your friend and it brought me close to tears. Letting your friend go is never easy, fighting for them is just as hard, but that doesn’t lessen the pain when it has ended.

Our own little minihamster passed on some years back and reading your story brought it backi in my mind. My little Mr. Piggy. Our family dogs morned her (she was named Mr. because she kept digging through her boxes) just as much as we did. Our pets missed their pet.

I think you’ve honoured him well, giving us a lovely glimbs to his life.

I really really would like to obtain all your published works in an ebook format. It that possible? Is PD working on it? I’ve bought most of them in paper, but it’s so much easier to carry them around with me if they are all zeros and ones.

Trek + Firefly seems like such an odd combination, thougjh could definitely create unique fun, especially when you toss in Traveller ideas.

Never played Traveller myself, but I have the book for it. I’ve been eyeing the Firefly/Serenity RPG as well.
(You didn’t miss a lot with the White Wolf, since it required a certain mindset to gel with the games. Mine didn’t fit apparently.)

Many HAVE come before you, LOL!

There are a couple of reasons for no sequel here.

1) Who wants to see Anpo’s people subjugated by the encroaching whites? No one.
2) Who wants to see the next natural step in the Lakota lifestyle – a second wife? No one.

Hence, it’s doubtful a sequel will be written. I prefer leaving them happy and healthy.

I can’t say enough good about Krieger’s book. It’s very much a product of its time, and makes sense to me. I’ve attempted to read some of the monsters of the early transgender history, but I have a difficult time relating to them. (Stone Butch Blues among ‘em.)

I too read the first version online, and thought it was wonderful. Redhawk’s books are all lovely, and in a variety of genres. This one makes us live the grueling Alaskan dog-race with a wealth of circumstantial detail, while drawing us steadily into the evolving relationship between the two main characters. And the dogs are fully fleshed characters too!

I’m not sure at this point. Most of the series action to date takes place in the current day and age, not back in Elisibet’s & Marguaurethe’s time… I do have an idea to write Elisibet’s story, however, so perhaps it will eventually make it to book form.

I’m debating about Sucker Punch... On the one hand, who can pass up a bunch of good looking women kicking ass? On the other…what the hel does it have to do with the storyline of being in a mental institute? I’m betting nothing. So this is just a glorified way to carry on the Tarentino style of movie-making?

If you like Mila, make sure you pick up Black Swan when it comes out. She’s really excellent in that. I also really want to see Sucker Punch. Looks like a very fun chicks kicking ass movie, plus some interesting backstory to it. Comes out March 25.

This is an exquisite story. The author is an accomplished storyteller as will be obvious with a few minutes reference to her other stories, but this one may well be her best ever. I read this book when it was a free offering on fan fiction websites, but I like it so well, I will buy the published version is whatever media it becomes available in.

This is the story of a reporter who decides to do the Iditerod because she falls for a musher. But the story is the race itself. The love story is interesting and well told, but the race is suspensful, gripping and dramatic.

Thanks for the info, Jordan, I’m going to get the program. I believe they make a version for the iMac. I think it would be a good idea because over the weekend I wrote an entire two-page scene, and left out the main character, who was essential to the scene! It’s that “I’m-almost-done-I-think” syndrome where the excitement of nearing the finish line obliterates all semblance of common sense and has been known to cause weight gain—-because you have to celebrate the almost The End, don’t you?

Yes I agree about Blayne—-just finishing Stranded, and I love it when an author makes me laugh out loud. Oh yeah, and her characters are hot!

I’d go for it as far as plugging your manuscript into the program. I finished the Iditarod piece in 2005, and revamped it with some character twists over the last year or so. As I’ve stated in my blog, I THOUGHT I was almost finished. Then I created a Scrivener project for it, and discovered a whole mess of things I hadn’t taken into consideration.

The program is written by writers, both fiction and screen writing, and I haven’t found anything to complain about. I think this is the third or fourth time I’ve picked up a writing program. I’ve never been this excited about it. Even though my first Sanguire novel is complete, I think I’ll plug it in just to see how it can be improved before I send it to the next publisher.

And thank you! I love Blayne’s stuff! She’s an excellent writer!

Hi…about Scrivener: I’m getting very close (within 50 pages) to finishing a book, and I’m wondering if there’s any benefit in using Scrivener after the fact, as it were…to make sure everything flows, to ensure I’ve got my POVs in order, etc. I’ve been a complete seat of the pants writer on this piece, and although I’ve enjoyed it, writing that way can be dangerous for one’s sanity, not to mention the danger to the well-being of the horses one changes midstream. By the way, I found my way here after reading Blayne Cooper’s book Stranded, went to her website and found you on her list of links. Thanks.

Headway on ‘Broken Trails’ (a.k.a. Iditarod) is full steam ahead now. Had a really crappy summer, but I’m getting back into the swing of things. I think I’m about halfway through it at this point, though we’ll see—I expect it to get a bit longer since Lainey is an active alcoholic, and must come to terms with her addiction…

I must say that I really enjoyed both of your stories (Tiopa Ki Lakota and this one.) You made me have to go out and buy it just so that I can have a hard copy. I’m going to have to stop here before I start gushing even more than I did to my friends about your works. It really was an excellent read and you must be commended on your research because you had me learning a few words and it really shows your dedication…Yep still rambling.

Anyway great plots, great character developments, and the visualization of the scenes were amazing.

I bought and I am more than halfway through.
You did a tremendous job on that story. I read the online version a while ago and liked it. But the book is so much better. Every ounce of work put into it was absolutely worth it.

And now: Anything new about Iditarod? Seeing what you did to ‘On Azrael’s Wings” I really, really hope that you will consider working on Iditarod. Because, the story is already good but I can only guess what it would be like after putting more work into it. This could really be a winner. And I would at least buy three copies
