News & Info

* 2012

July 13th-17th
GCLS!
I’ve never been to one of these before! I’ll be signing books and handing out some freebies.

* 2011

September 4th
In Other Words – Pacific Northwest Writers reading.
Not that I did a reading – way too shy for that – and I didn’t have any books to sell, but I was there for the moral support.

February 25th
Bella’s Blog – Sanguire series picked up by Bella Books.

I pitched a three book arc, and was accepted into the Bella Books family. I’m looking forward to working with them!

January 25th
Cocktail Hour – Andi and the Rev discuss Tiopa Ki Lakota over a couple of Fleur De Lis™

I absolutely enjoyed listening to this podcast! “I call bulls**t!” This link isn’t for the faint of heart—booze, fanfic, and swearing prevail!

* 2010

June 14th
Femslash For Fans – Allaine interviews myself, Susan X Meagher, and Kim Pritekel.
This episode is entitled ‘Because Two Hours of Xena Really Isn’t Enough’. Allaine originally interviewed Missy Good, KG MacGregor and Linda Crist in January (link here.) The response was so strong, another Xena related show was put together. Me? Terrified, but I’m told I don’t sound it! Whew!

* 2008

Lesbian Fiction Readers’ Choice AwardsOn Azrael’s Wings received an award for the Top 5 Favorite Speculative Fiction/Science Fiction/Fantasy Books of 2008.

The same book and the same year, I received the Lesbian Fiction Readers’ Choice Book Cover Award for the same title.

Thanks for the cover award goes to Stephanie Solomon-Lopez. She did the covers to my first five books and has always impressed me with her talent!

* 2006

Royal Academy of Bards Hall of Fame – two awards, one for writing Xena: Warrior Princess based fan fiction, and one for Iditarod.
These awards are voted on by the readers of the Xenaverse. Iditarod eventually became Broken Trails, published by PD Publishing in 2011.

February
Evolution Interview – by Nonny.

Evolution was a site that spun off Forward Motion Writers Community, and had a heavier, darker feel to it. Unfortunately, the site has disappeared, which is a shame. There were some wild and crazy people there.

* 2005

November 5th
Orlando Bardcon – attended as guest.
Linda Crist came by my table and had me sign a book… Tiopa Ki Lakota is now in the hands of Renee O’Connor! Wow!

* 2002

October 2nd
Orlando Bardcon – attended as guest.

* 2001

May 5th
Orlando Bardcon – attended as guest, and donated a signed copy of Tiopa Ki Lakota for the Breast Cancer Charity Auction.
Though painfully shy and nervous, I nevertheless enjoyed myself. It was fun meeting and talking with everyone!

Swollen Bud Awards – presented by the mysterious Swollen Bud Committee.
I received two of this – one for the Infinity Series as a whole, and one for Tiopa Ki Lakota.

February
Xippy Award – presented by MaryD of AUSXIP.

Received for The Breaking, part three of the Infinity Series. This award was given in the Alternative category.

January, 16th
Orlando Bardcon – attended as a guest.

Had a fun time here, though I’m sure I discovered new shades of red when asked if I wrote my books in the nude.

* 1999

September
Xippy Award – presented by MaryD of AUSXIP.
Received for Only One, the first novella length story I ever finished, and the first of the Infinity Series. This award was given in the Uber category.

August
Eddie Award – an Editor’s Choice Award on Tom’s Fanfic Site for CyberEpic

July
Eddie Award – an Editor’s Choice Award on Tom’s Fanfic Site for Oktoberfest.

One of the first awards I recall receiving, this was for my Xena/Highlander fanfiction crossover.

March
Pacific Northwest Xena Fest, Vancouver, British Columbia – attended as a guest.

This was my first appearance anywhere, and I was scared silly! I was part of an author’s panel and one of the major guests.
